Description:
An emblem representing a long lost trading empire. A user can bind this emblem to their skin, allowing them the power to trade anything. This includes ephemeral and intangible things. It also eases persuasion tasks by one.
The emblem bearer must trade something every 24 hours at least, or the emblem begins to burn painfully. Resisting this pain requires a MIGHT3 check, increasing in difficulty each day. Failure causes the bearer to have all tasks hindered by one per day since the last trade as they are distracted by the pain. Making a valid trade resets the effect.
Trade Rules
- The bearer must be getting something of at least equal value for what they are losing, the opposite does not apply.
- The things traded do not have to be physically present, though they will appear nearby immediately if the bearer desires. If the target object would cause disruption or destruction by appearing nearby, a INT5 check is required. Failure means the target remains at its current location.
- Things such as money or crypto, having an account where it is stored, can be exchanged directly between accounts, without knowing each others information.
- Intangibles can be stored for later. For example, if you trade for someone's eye color, you can store that within the emblem for later trade. These things can be applied to yourself without a trade, but can not affect anyone else.
- Determining value of things is generally left to the bearer. It is possible to deceive or convince yourself that something is more or less valuable, and others can do the same. The rules is that the bearer must believe that the rules have been obeyed.
The emblem can be removed, but it causes significant tissue damage, leading to at minimum a serious injury. Alternatively, the emblem itself can be traded away, but this must be according to the rules.
